Sawyer - 9 months

I can't believe my big man is already 9 months old! Well, technically, he'll be 9 months old tomorrow, but I took him for his check-up yesterday. He's almost 18 pounds! He's crawling all over the place and today when we were at my Memaw and Pepaw's house playing, he pulled up to a standing position all by himself! I know that these next few months are going to fly by. This is when it really starts to get fun!!!!
His doctor did tell me though that I absolutely HAVE to let him start crying it out in the middle of the night. Oh, how hard that is!!!!! I did it for a while a few months ago, but he wouldn't cry himself to sleep and I wasn't sleeping, so I gave up. Now it is time to start again and this time, I have to stick with it. We started last night and it wasn't TOO bad. It could've been worse. I just pray and pray all night long for him. I want him to feel peaceful in his bed and have a good night's rest. For once...
He goes to sleep just fine, but he wakes up several times through the night. Every single night...
So, wish me luck!!! I know I can do this!!!!
He's getting dedicated at church next Sunday on Mother's Day. Oh, what a special day that will be! I can't wait!!!

Random Things

Okay, first of all, I wanted everyone to see a short video of my sweet baby boy crawling! It's not the best video b/c you can't really tell how far he's crawling, and in the midst of it Sadie gets mad that he took her milk, but it's still pretty funny! She is normally a sweetheart to him, but if you take her milk, you're in for it!!! ha ha I guess he's still not crawling full out, but he's getting pretty darn close! I think my life will never be the same once he can truly get everywhere by himself!

Second off, this is what I found in Sadie's bed when I went to get her up from her nap yesterday. Does this scream "OCD" or what??? She's very particular about things, but this took the cake! I got the biggest kick out it. I had to take a picture. She calls these all of her "friends".

Easter 2009

We had a very eventful Easter this year. It was jam-packed with lots of activities. Saturday night, we had dinner at my mom's. Sadie got to participate in her very first Easter egg hunt. She did great and loved every minute of it! Mom let Sadie have her own little egg hunt since she's so young compared to all of the other kids, so they all helped her and it was so precious. She got lots of candy in her eggs and even some money! Sweet!!!!

Sunday we got up and went to church. It was incredible. They showed a video at the end of the service of Jesus getting tortured and nailed to the cross and I had to keep myself from falling in the floor. It touched me more than anything else I've ever seen for some reason. I feel closer to God these days than I have ever felt. I think it's because I need Him more than ever and I see the work He is doing in my life at some point every single day. He is so amazing.
After church, we went to Grammy's house for lunch and yet another Easter egg hunt. It was a lot of fun!

Here is a short video of the egg hunt at Grammy's.

Sunday night we went out to Daren and Rachel's for dinner at their place with PawPaw and Gimmy. The food was delicious and we had a ball. The girls played and played together and it was precious. They chased each other around the house and there were lots of little giggles. Music to my ears!

It was such a great weekend with family. It was definitely tiring, but I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Barn o' fun

I just wanted to pass along a fun "toy" that I bought for the kids a few months ago that has been a HUGE hit! And, it's cheap! That's why I'm contributing a whole blog post to it. I got it at Target a few months ago for about $20 or so. They still have some too. I saw them last week when I was there. They are not where the toys are. They are on a separate shelf/aisle with some matching rainboots, umbrellas, and outdoor things for the kids.
Anyways, Sadie absolutely loves this thing! I told Dennis last night that she would probably sleep in it at night if we would let her. I set it up yesterday for the first time in a while and she plays in it non-stop. I had previously taken it to a playdate that I went to with some friends and all of their kids loved it too.
I just think it's a great rainy day "toy" for such a great price!
Just wanted to pass it along to all of you moms out there who might be looking for something fun to get your kiddos for Easter!

Fun Weekend!

We had such a good weekend. My grandmother had major surgery on Friday and she is doing really well. Prayers were definitely answered in that respect. She's still got a long road of recovery ahead of her, but she is the strongest woman I know, so I know she will pull through.
To start off the weekend, my honey killed his very first turkey! He was so excited and I was so proud of him!!! Go babe!!! Daddy is bringin' home the bacon! (or in this case, the turkey breast)

We went to the park on Saturday morning to watch Emma play softball. We had a great time. Emma did so good. She's going to be a great ball player. I was always so scared of the ball when I was her age, so I never was worth anything on the ballfield, but she's going to be really good, I can tell.
We played on the playground afterwards and had so much fun!!!!

Afterwards, we came home to eat lunch and let the kids nap, and then Rachel, my dad, and I all went back to the hospital to see my Grandma. She was doing great!
The 3 of us met Dennis, the kids, and Jeffrey, Chance, and Emma back at the park because we had so much fun earlier. We grabbed some dinner and let the kids play all night. It was so much fun. My dad spent some quality time with Sawyer in the swing. Too cute!!!

Family times are the best. There's nothing better than just being with family. No matter where you are or what you are doing, you just feel good when you are with family. Sadie had the best time. She didn't want to leave when it was getting dark. I think she would've stayed out there all night long! This was her when we told her she could have "one more time on the slide".

What a great weekend!!!
