7 Things About Me...

I was tagged by my stepsister, Amy to list 7 things about me that you may not know.
This might be harder than I thought. Here goes...

1. Dennis and I could've met when we were tiny little babies. Our moms were in a craft club together and says that they would bring us and let all of the babies play together. If only they would've taken pictures! I can only imagine. Those pics would be priceless to me!

2. I have spent the night at the home of Phillip Fulmer, which some people might not care about, but the UT fans will appreciate. Okay, don't get the wrong idea here...my stepmom is good friends with the Fulmers, and needed my help one weekend toting one of the Fulmer girls around, so I spent the night. Pretty neat!

3. I have 6 sisters! Well, only 1 is my real sister, but I have 5 stepsisters! No kidding! No stepbrothers at all! They are all precious though, so I got pretty lucky. No "wicked stepsisters" in the bunch!

4. I've never had the chicken pox. Lord, help me! Even when my big sis had them when we were little, and my mom made me hang out with her the whole time in hopes that I would go ahead and get them too just to get it over with, I never did! And, still to this day, I'm chicken pox free.

5. I have an unhealthy fear of birds. No, not the small, cute little birds that sing pretty songs...I'm scared to death of the big birds that eat things off the side of the road. Literally, my body goes into a weird shock anytime I pass them on the road. I get the shivers and want to scream at the top of my lungs, and do so most of the time.

6. I still sleep with the stuffed puppy dog that Dennis gave me on my 18th birthday. Poor puppy dog. Half of it's insides are on the outside. He needs stitching up, but I don't want to change him. Dennis surprised me with him on my birthday by taking me to eat at Planet Hollywood in Nashville and having the waitress bring him to the table. The big surprise was that a diamond bracelet was around his neck!

7. I have a slight obsession with Reality TV. I watch way too much of it, and I think I have Dennis hooked on it too! We watch just about every Reality TV show that comes on. Well, probably not all of them. To name a few: Big Brother, American Idol, Survivor, Making the Band (Dennis doesn't watch that one), Amazing Race, The Bachelor, Dancing with the Stars, etc.

Okay, now I tag Rachel Phillips!!

So Many Firsts!!

This has been one heck of a week for little Ms. Sadie. Small things first...she has started clapping. I know, it doesn't take much to make us smile these days, but I have been waiting for her to clap. We sing so many songs at "My Gym", and she never claps along, and I just couldn't wait for her to be able to grasp the clapping concept. Now, when we sing "If You're Happy and You Know It", she'll be able to play along!

Next, she has gotten her first tooth...FINALLY! We thought she was just going to be "gumby" forever and ever.

Lastly, and most importantly, she has taken her very first steps. I hesitate to say she is "walking", because I feel that a lot of people say their kids "walk" for the first time when they actually have only taken a few steps. To me (and this is just my opinion), actual "walking" is when they will get up and just walk away on their own. Right now, Sadie will just walk between Dennis and I. Meaning, he will sit a few feet away, and she will take 5 or 6 steps to him. Then, she'll turn around, hold her arms out, and take 5 or 6 steps to me. She did it over and over again last night, and we finally got it on video. So cute!!!

It's been a busy week! It seems as though she's changing every single day! It's so much fun.

And, as you can see in the picture below, we have taken "puppy" out of her crib. He has been her bed buddy since the very first night we put her in her baby crib. She had been sleeping with me every night for the first few weeks that we brought her home, and we felt that she would feel lonely in her big ole crib all alone, so we stuck "puppy" in there with her, and she cuddled with him every night until about a week or so ago. I think she was ready for room in her crib to crawl around, so we took him out. Maybe he'll be a comfort for the next little one. We'll see...
Baby Phillips #2 update: We had our 4 month appt. this past week and all was well. It was a very uneventful appt., which was fine by me!!! We had a bit of a rough 4th month, but with only one trip to the Emergency Room! And, it seems as though every since I walked out of that ER, I have finally felt tons better. (no more nausea) I don't remember ever feeling this good being pregnant with Sadie, so I'm trying to enjoy it while it lasts. But, it seems as though this whole month either I, Dennis, or Sadie has been really sick. So, we're looking forward to a successful 5th month, and on March 25th, we get to have our big ultrasound to confirm the sex of this baby! I'm ready to start shopping for crying out loud!!!!

The Best Valentine

This morning when Sadie and I came downstairs, there was a surprise for both of us! Dennis had set out a dozen roses. a card, and a box of Ghiradelli chocolates (my favorite) for me, and a "stuffed" rose, a card, and some baby food for Sadie (he said she couldn't have candy quite yet). It was the most precious thing in the world. Keep in mind, neither Dennis nor I are big on Valentines Day. I've just never been one to care that much about this so-called holiday. It's just too much pressure. But, Dennis is the greatest Valentine. Sadie is so incredibly lucky to have a daddy that cares enough about her to make sure that she feels special on Valentines Day, and I'm sure this is just the 1st of many more to come. Hopefully, her daddy will always make her feel so special on Valentines Day that she'll never need a boyfriend to make her feel that way! ha ha She was so proud of her little rose. She carried it around all morning long. I can't wait until she gets old enough for me to tell her what a special daddy she has. I'm the luckiest girl in the world too to be married to such a thoughtful husband. I am so blessed!
