High School Friends Playdate

We had a playdate over at Jennifer's today with most of my high school friends. It was me, Jennifer, Shelly, Katie, Heather, Amanda, and Laura. Cayce couldn't be there because, well, she could've possibly gone into labor! Hopefully, baby Crew will hang on for a few more days, but she didn't want to take any chances and I don't blame her.
We had a great time though. There were 10 kids there! All were under the age of 3, except for one. Crazy, Crazy, Crazy! Everyone was so good though. All kids were extremely well behaved and I was very impressed.
I wanted to share a few pictures from our day together and say "thanks" to Jennifer for having us all over! We definitely need to do it more often.

Weekend Update

We had quite a busy weekend here at the Phillips household. Friday night we went and got takeout and after the kids went to bed we watched "Nights in Rodanthe". I felt a need for a good chick-flick and this did not satisfy. I had read the book and this movie didn't hold a candle to the book. I don't recommend it. It was extremely unrealistic. I know it's a movie, so it's not real anyways, but this just didn't do it for me. Dennis thoroughly enjoyed it as well. ha ha
Saturday, we got up and cooked breakfast and then me and Sawyer went and did some shopping together. He was a little trooper. When we got back, Sawyer and Dennis headed to the Turkey Expo at Opryland Hotel while Sadie took her nap. Dennis was meeting his 2 cousins, Brent and Bryan, along with their little boys. He had a ball. Sawyer did awesome. I was a little skeptical about sending Sawyer with Dennis alone, only because he is going through a phase where he is absolutely attached to my hip, but Dennis said he was perfect. Thank goodness! Here's a picture of them before they left.

I figured this would become a tradition, so I wanted to get their picture, and hopefully, I will get them annually as the years go by. I know Dennis is ecstatic to have his little hunting buddy. Here are a few of them at the show. The cute couple in the picture are our heroes. They have their own hunting shows that we watch all of the time. They are so precious and we would love to have their job! They get to travel around together and hunt and they look like they have so much fun!

Saturday night, we all went over to Billy and Judy Messer's house for dinner. We are all old friends and my dad was spending the weekend over there while he was in town, so we, along with Shelly, Ryan, and Greyson went over there for dinner. My dad cooked a feast and it was absolutely delicious! We had a great time reminiscing of old times and old trips that we took together growing up, etc. It was so much fun. Here are a few pics from the night. The middle one is of Sadie and Greyson after they got their suckers after dinner. They took them and went into the sunroom and each got into their own chair, as if they were about to engage in some intellectual conversation together. I just thought it was hilarious that they went and did that on their own so I had to get their picture.

Sunday we got up and went to church and then came home and did nothing all day. We took a family trip to the grocery store, got some pizza and came home Sunday night.
On another note, Sawyer said his first word yesterday! "Bye Bye" He has not stopped saying it all weekend. It's so precious!!!!!

Valentines Weedend Update

We had such a good weekend. Valentines has never been my favorite holiday. I don't boycott it or anything, but I've never been one to make it very important. But, I can tell it's getting to be more fun to "celebrate" now that we have kids. Dennis was so sweet and sent flowers to me and Sadie on Friday. Here is a short video of her when I showed her the flowers. HILARIOUS!!!

Not sure why she thought they were "yuck", but I thought it was so funny!!!
Friday night, Dennis' dad and Barbara came over to bring the kids a Valentines gift. We got some pizza and hung out with them for a little while.
Saturday we got up and made a big breakfast. Saturday morning breakfast is becoming a tradition around our house and I love it. It gives us a chance to all be together in the kitchen, cooking food and eating, which is one of our favorite things to do! Although for the most part, Sadie is still in the bed asleep!
We gave the kids their Valentines presents and cards and just played for a while. Here is a short video of Sawyer getting his V-day card from daddy.

He has been cracking me up lately. He has the cutest little personality. I think he's going to be a pretty witty fellow. I laugh at him constantly. He's become quite amused with his toes lately.

Dennis' mom gave Sadie this "smock" to wear when she colors and stuff in her goodie bag for Valentines Day. Sadie wants to wear it ALL of the time. She puts it on every chance she gets. Even when she's not coloring, she wants to just wear it around the house. Kids are so funny. It has prompted me to want to go and buy her some dress-up clothes. Birthday, maybe...????

Saturday night, we, and by "we", I mean ALL 4 of us went out for Valentines Day! We went and had dinner at Avanti Gourmet. YUM! We bumped into 2 other couples that we know who were also out for V-day, except without their kiddos. But, we really had a good time. Both of the kids did great the whole time we were there so it made for a really nice, relaxing, yummy dinner. Granted, I would've loved for me and Dennis to have been able to have a night to ourselves, but all of our parents had plans that night, so we were out of luck as far as babysitters go. We came home and just hung out together and played until bathtime.

Dennis and I watched a movie after the kids went to bed.
Sunday morning we got up and went to church. It was good to be back! I have missed the past 2 Sundays because of the kids being sick.
We came home and had an uneventful Sunday afternoon.
It was a good weekend though. The cold weather has got me yearning for Spring though. We were so spoiled last weekend!!!

Monday Morning Funny

Everyone needs a good laugh on a Monday morning!!

We had a wonderful weekend! It was so gorgeous outside. Sadie and Dennis spent pretty much the whole entire weekend outside and I think Sadie was in Heaven! She had so much fun.

The weather was a far cry from what we've experienced this past week with the cold, cold temperatures. This is what the kids looked like every time we left the house last week!

Needless to say, I am ready for Spring!!!
We gave a wedding shower for my cousin Molly on Sunday, who is getting married in March. Her and her fiance, John, are so precious!!! Here is a picture of me, my sis, Molly, and her sister Caroline. We're all cousins.

It was just a great weekend all together. We grilled big ole steaks Sunday night and just enjoyed being outside as much as possible.
Sawyer is finally sitting up all by himself. He's been kind of sitting up for a few weeks now, but he's really started getting good at it over the weekend. He's even started to "crawl" a little bit. I'm not ready!!!!!!! It's all going way too fast!!!!

Weekend Update

In honor of my baby boy turning 6 months old on Friday, I have posted a few of my favorite pictures of him here lately.

Friday I took Sawyer to the doctor for his 6 month check-up. I really can't believe he's already 6 months old. After being there for almost 2 hours, we got a clean bill of health! He caught Sadie's cold and his little cough and runny nose has been pitiful! It breaks my heart every time he coughs, but the doctor said it's just a little post nasal drip causing him to cough, so at least it's nothing serious. He weighed in at a whopping 15 pounds and 12 ounces. He didn't gain as much weight as we had thought he had, but he's still considered to be right on track. I thought he was at least 17 pounds, but that's probably because I carry him around all day, so he feels a little heavier to me. I just hope he's not going to be as skinny minny as Sadie is! I guess I need to up his food content a little bit and beef him up!
Grammy came and kept Sadie while I was at the doctor. Sadie has so much fun with her. She did not want Grammy to leave when I got home! My dad and sis came over and had lunch. My dad brought Itty Bitty and it was delicious! Friday night we didn't do much. Just got some take-out and hung out at home. Dennis and I rented "88 Minutes" and it was a great movie. For once, I picked out a good movie. Usually the ones I pick out are horrible!
Saturday I met my mom at Lizards and Lace for a huge sale they were having and got some great stuff! Saturday night, Dennis and I and the kids went to eat at Casa Vieja. I've been craving Mexican food, so we went and had dinner and it was delicious!
My dad brought my Grandma over Saturday night to see the kids. She's never even seen Sawyer! She was tickled to death over him. The night she came to see him after he was born was the night we had to rush to Vanderbilt with him, so she never got to see him.

I love that woman so much. I could literally sit and talk to her for hours. She is a precious, precious woman.

Sunday, I stayed home w/ Sawyer while Dennis took Sadie to church. He has still been coughing pretty bad, so I didn't want him to pass it on to other babies although I hated missing church! Me and Sawyer went to the grocery store along w/ everyone else in Hendersonville!!!!
After the kids' naps we went to the park so that Sadie could see the ducks and play on the playground. It was so pretty outside! Although, once the sun started to go down, it was quite chilly! But, we had a great time.
Here is a short video of Sadie feeding the ducks.

We stopped on the way home and got some pizza which Sadie was very excited about! It was a great weekend, but I'm sad to see it go.
